History

Savannah Oaks Golf Course and Affinity Hills Housing Development is located in Lynd, Minnesota, 5 miles SW of Marshall. In 1994 there was a dream and a vision to take 510 acres of land, much of which had, for 90 years, been mined for sand and gravel minerals, and created a Professional Golfers Association (PGA) caliber golf course, surrounded by a housing development. In July of 2006 the first nine holes of that dream opened! Golfers have been enjoying the challenging golf experience since! The mining that took place in the Redwood River Valley prior to construction laid the foundation for the five man-made lakes and numerous sand bunkers that golfers experience while golfers maneuver on the course. The sand utilized for the course was processes on site! The Oak Tree used for our Logo can be seen from our largest green located on Hole #4. Just look up the bluff to the south and you will see the gigantic towering Bur Oak! In September 2008 work started on the next 9 holes!! (there is addition land that would support an addition 9 holes of play !) The residential development has a total of 96 residential lots, of which 43 have been sold. The lots are located along the scenic course, all but 12 will have golf course views upon the completing of the next 9. There are currently 24 lots ready for building! The large body of water in the center of the picture is between #7 green & #8 Tees.
